HOTEL LEGASTA KYOTO HIGASHIYAMA SANJO

This is a great small hotel. Location is pretty good for Kyoto visitors. Walkable distance to most significant tourist points. Good walkable distance to public transportation and walkable distance to grocery store. Room size was just right for two people with luggage.

The location is excellent. You can reach every direction by bus in 3-5 min from the hotel.The room is clean and comfartable.The stuff is very friendly and nice.

It was disagreable smell of instullation in our room and they gave us another room besides this one.

Great hotel. It was fairly convenient. It’s adorable with friendly staff. Our room was BIG for Japan.

We enjoyed the place very much. The location was amazing, and the staff were very helpful and nice. We loved staying there, and it was great to be able to make coffee and tea whenever we wanted.

The breakfast could be improved.

Good location, very clean and comfortable, extremely helpful staff. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, with frozen scrambled eggs that we had to microwave.

Great location with lots of wonderful family run restaurants in the neighborhood! The staff were absolutely phenomenal and so accommodating and knowledgeable. Facilities were great (perhaps the most polite toilet we’ve ever encountered), food was good, great rooms (staying in the basement has the advantage of escaping street noise) with beautiful tatami and comfortable beds. Everything was perfect and I will definitely be recommending to friends and booking more stays when I return.

Breakfast

Small touches were great. Robes, slippers, bathroom facilities, breakfast, friendly staff. Good location by train stop and sights.

This was the only area of modest complaint. We stayed prior at a Holiday Inn in Osaka that had a buffet breakfast complimentary with our stay. Breakfast at Legasta was more of a small snack and was an additional charge. We only purchased it once before deciding it was better to eat elsewhere. That said, I understand the hotel Legasta prioritizes different amenities and everything else was outstanding.

Honestly I don’t have any criticism. The room was immaculate. The staff was wonderfully kind to us. The location was perfect. We were able to get all around Kyoto. The metro was right across the street as was a bus stop. It was perfect.

Great location And beautiful interior design

The breakfast was served cold And I was expected to use a microwave to warm it I would prefer fresh made breakfast

The room was sparkling clean and the bathroom shower stall, very spacious. The water was hot and the shower, powerful. I loved how the toilet seat rose to greet me when I walked in! Haha!

I’m giving my review a 9 rather than a 10, simply because many other reviews cite the abysmal breakfast, which the hotel acknowledges, yet doesn’t change! Straight from the refrigerator, wet scrambled eggs, a slice of deli meat and refrigerated bread, is not an ideal way to start my day. If the breakfast would be improved, I’d give a ten!

Size of the room. Very spacious. Everything is very new and modern. Comfortable.

Room was spacious enough with a little yard to look at. Nice, since we were in the basement.

Everything was fine with hotel except that the basement room we got (and all the basement) had a wet smell. Wasn’t very strong but enough to be unpleasant.

Good value for money. Great location, large size rooms.

The breakfast is a disaster. It would be better not to offer any breakfast instead of what we got.

Room was nice, breakfast basic. Team at the desk very helpful. Short walk to train station and into town.

Loved this hotel, beautiful room and such comfortable beds. Brilliant location in Kyoto, short walk to Gion and near a subway stop.Really relaxing stay and we didn't want to leave!

Central location not far from the metro. Really accommodating staff and the room was so spacious and had a luxurious feel for a great price! The best room I’ve had in Japan. Breakfast was also a nice touch

Lovely, large and comfortable room with good beds and a great shower. Quiet and with a nice real Kyoto feel to it.Sweet staff and free drinks in the lobby. Ver close to the metro and nice restaurants, bakery.

We stayed 7 nights and only one time some cleaning was done; they just gave us fresh towels....but no vacuüm cleaning or clean sheets or so. By the time we left the room was very dusty and dirty ?

The location was OK

Cleanliness - when we went to bed we could see black stains through the sheet so I pulled the sheet back and found very large urine stains, blood stains and 'other' stains on the matress protector. When I pulled the mattress protector back the stains on the other side were even worse. Reception closed at 9.00 pm so we had to sleep on this bed - disgusting. Important tip - Check your bed as soon as you arrive not when you go to bed!!! Better still choose a different hotel because you will have to ask for an apology, it will not be forthcoming. The breakfast was a small yoghurt and a small amount of museli plus 3 tasteless breads. There was apple juice and sometimes orange juice available plus tea and coffee. The breakfast had to be collected.
